I was first introduced to Le Parkour when I saw it on an episode of
‘Ripley’s Believe it or not’ in 2001.
At the time I was performing in a gymnastics team and would dabble in the odd vault here and there on the street.
Towards the end of the summer in 2004, I was introduced to Luke. He caught the attention of one of my team mates
after somersaulting over a tent in my local park. We then started to train together at a Gymnastics centre close to where we live.
In January 2005 the television première of ‘Jump Britain’ saw an influx of interest in the discipline. Luke and I would travel to the South Bank every Sunday and train with Freerunners and Traceur’s from all over the UK. Ever since, we have been working and training together and decided to form a team of local practitioners.
I have enjoyed performing since I can remember. Before and during my early teens, I attended a part-time theatre school for 9 years. I performed on some of London’s largest West End stages and eventually became a student teacher in Drama and Dance.
My first experiences with a more physical performance however, were back in 1998 when I joined ‘The Blue Falcons Gymnastic Display Team’. From thereon, gymnastics and acrobatics have been my forté.
Freerunning, for me, was a natural progression from my gymnastics background. I applied the gymnastic and acrobatic skills
that I had acquired using mats in gyms and overcame my mental barriers to perform them outside.
Putting into practice
what others only dream of, both inspires and encourages me to be the best I physically can.
